Restoration of this delightful Edwardian villa, last used as a commercial nursing home, was to be funded by the construction of two smaller but equally special executive houses in the grounds. Local residents were presented with the choice of having the nursing home use continue or the residential restoration. By an overwhelming majority the residential use was preferred.
Local policy sought to resist new dwellings in domestic garden areas and the restoration was initially opposed by officers. However localism won the day and the scheme was approved after a key note address was given to the planning committee by Prism Planning.
